Zhang Hongsen attends and delivers a speech at the National Cable TV Network Integration and Development Regional Conference.
From August 15 to August 21, 2018, the Administration organized a national symposium on the integrated development of cable TV networks, bringing together representatives from 31 provincial-level cable TV network companies across five regional groups. Vice Director and Party Member Zhang Hongsen of the National Radio and Television Administration attended the meetings for the Northwest and Southwest regions. During the symposium, participants shared their feedback on the "National Implementation Plan for the Integrated Development of Cable TV Networks," engaging in thorough discussions. They unanimously endorsed the plan, expressing strong support for accelerating the pace of network integration while also offering constructive suggestions for further refinement.
Zhang Hongsen emphasized that cable television networks are a vital channel for disseminating the voice of the Party and the country, serving as the primary platform for cultural propaganda. The central government places great importance on the integrated development of the national cable TV network system. To this end, the Publicity Department of the Central Committee has taken the lead in establishing the National Leading Group for Integrated Development of Cable TV Networks, tasked with implementing the "National Implementation Plan for the Integrated Development of Cable TV Networks," thereby further strengthening administrative support. The cable TV industry must deeply recognize that network integration is a critical initiative for achieving high-quality and innovative development in radio and television broadcasting. It must embrace new ideas, shift mindsets, and boldly explore and innovate—leveraging fresh concepts and approaches to accelerate the pace of network integration, expedite the transformation and upgrading of existing infrastructure, and foster the seamless integration of cable TV networks with cutting-edge 5G technologies and emerging business models. Ultimately, this will pave the way for a new, unified transmission framework that combines wired, wireless, satellite, and mobile technologies into a cohesive, next-generation ecosystem.
