The China Television Conference, themed "World Television Day," was held on November 21 and 22, 2015, at the Beijing International Conference Center. During this year’s event, experts will jointly explore strategic planning and viable pathways for the future of the television industry, aiming to address the challenges posed by new media and drive the transformation of China’s TV sector toward innovative business models.
At the main forum of the China Television Conference on the morning of November 21, Zhang Xian, Party Secretary of the China Television Artists Association; Jiang Wenbo, Member of the CPC Leadership Group at CCTV; Sun Sucuan, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television; Yang Yiman, Director of the Satellite Broadcasting Management Center under the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television; Zeng Qingjun, Deputy General Manager of China Broadcast Network Corporation Ltd.; Zhao Gang, General Manager of China Radio and Television International Economic & Technical Cooperation Corporation; Gao Xiaoping, Chairman of iLoveTV Media Co., Ltd.; Xiong Zhihui, General Manager of Future TV Co., Ltd.; and Xu Yang, Deputy Director of the Network Government Research Center at the National Information Center, jointly released the "World Television Day" Joint Declaration 2015.

Today (November 21, 2015) marks the 20th World Television Day, designated by the United Nations. The UN notes, "World Television Day is not just a day to celebrate the medium of television—it’s also an occasion to recognize the philosophy that TV embodies. After all, television stands as a powerful symbol of communication and globalization in today’s modern world."
Television media plays a pivotal role in the dissemination and shaping of popular culture. As key components of the television industry chain—ranging from content creation and broadcasting to cable, terrestrial, satellite transmission services, as well as emerging platforms like IPTV and internet-based TV—and including related research and service organizations, representatives from all sectors came together on World Television Day to jointly express:
1. Actively responding to the central government’s call for the vigorous development and prosperity of culture, as well as the integrated growth of traditional and emerging media, we aim to deliver more high-quality, positive-content video offerings to our audience. At the same time, we emphasize both public cultural services and a range of value-added services, continuously enhancing the overall user experience.
2. Strengthen collaboration and synergy across industry chains to jointly build, maintain, and foster a healthy ecosystem characterized by orderly competition, sustainable growth, and mutually beneficial partnerships.
3. Strengthen internet-based thinking, collaboratively driving the connection between the television industry and resources from all sectors of society, transforming television into a new, win-win platform for cross-industry collaboration—and enabling it to play an even greater role in advancing both the nation’s spiritual and material civilization.
