WINDEO’s Flagship MSTP-3 Wins Bid for CCTV’s “No. 1 Hall” Ultra-High-Definition System Upgrade Project

WINDEO proudly announces that its flagship product, the MSTP-3 Multi-Service SDI Over Fiber Platform, has successfully won the bid for China Central Television’s (CCTV) “Ultra-High-Definition System Upgrade Project of the D01 Studio Complex.” The MSTP-3 will provide industry-leading SDI Over Fiber solutions and technical support for Studio No. 1, the main venue of the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala, one of the most watched television events in the world.
Located in CCTV’s Fuxing Road Office Area, the D01 Studio Complex houses Studio No. 1 and Studio No. 6. In alignment with CCTV’s strategic “5G + 4K/8K + AI” roadmap, the D01 complex upgrade features a 16-channel, all-IP SMPTE ST 2110-based architecture, designed to deliver next-generation ultra-high-definition production capabilities. Building upon 4K UHD workflows, the new system fully supports 8K UHD production and JPEG-XS-based remote production, forming a comprehensive, intelligent, and file-based studio ecosystem. The cluster-based system design and centralized management ensure efficient resource integration and flexible production scheduling.
The upgraded D01 complex now supports simultaneous 4K and 8K production for large-scale variety shows and special programming, significantly enriching CCTV’s ultra-high-definition content library. Leveraging the capabilities of Studio No. 6, the new system enables remote production workflows, reducing the need for on-site resources while maintaining seamless signal management. Studio No. 6 also handles signal processing for the main viewing room in the Fuxing Road headquarters, allowing D01 to assume broadcast production tasks when other studios are in use—greatly improving overall production efficiency.
Within this advanced system, the MSTP-3 will undertake comprehensive optical signal transmission between all workstations and the central control room. Featuring dual-optical-channel redundant transmission technology, the MSTP-3 utilizes camera-grade composite optical cables and single-mode single-fiber connections to establish fully redundant optical paths. This architecture eliminates single points of failure and ensures uninterrupted, highly reliable signal transmission under all operating conditions.
