Since its open beta launch, League of Legends has captivated gamers worldwide, now boasting over 100 million monthly active players. Beyond its global popularity, LoL continues to advance the esports industry through strong regional collaborations, professional circuits, and three premier annual events: the Mid-Season Invitational, the World Championship, and the All-Star event. These tournaments have not only captured the hearts of billions of players but have also fostered a unique and dynamic esports culture.

The S7 World Championship showcased two prominent trends in global esports:
Increasing Competitiveness Across Regions: The narrowing performance gap among regions has enhanced match quality and audience engagement. Each region’s investment in cultivating professional esports ecosystems has elevated the overall standard of play to new heights.
Global Expansion and Professionalization: Hosting the tournament in China allowed LoL to directly engage audiences in the world’s largest gaming market, reflecting its strategic vision of advancing esports toward “sports-like professionalism.” This year’s tournament featured several enhancements, resulting in a larger scale, higher stakes, and more thrilling competition for fans worldwide.
